Revolutionaries They Could Not Break shows that the Trotskyists were not 'marginalised', but persecuted by the Stalinists for defending the political independence of the working class and refusing to collaborate with French imperialism. They did not fail in their efforts to give leadership to the workers. If they failed in anything it was in their realisation of the murderous lengths to which the Stalinists would go to stop them.
